Linksys LNE100TX v4.0/4.1/5.1 Boot ROM
This chip is programmed to enable the network board to boot a Linux kernel from a server. The chip is designed for Linksys LNE100TX v4.0, 4.1 and 5.1 network boards, having a 32 pin socket. Simply inserting this chip into the bootrom socket will enable the bootrom. When you boot up the workstation, it will begin broadcasting for a DHCP and then a bootp server. An important thing to know is that Linksys has shipped at least 4 different versions of this network card. Each with a slightly different chipset. This bootrom is designed specifically for version 4.0, 4.1 and 5.1 of the LNE100TX. It MUST have a chip that says:
"LNE100TX Version 4.x"
or
"LNE100TX Version 5.x"
. The older LNE100TX boards, such as the version 2.0 above require a different bootrom.
