Technical Support Representative

The ideal candidate for the Technical Support Representative position has a passion for helping customers via chat, e-mail, forum, and phone. You must be eager to assist people with different levels of experience and skills through technical issues and enjoy problem solving until a solution is reached. In finding solutions you must be detail oriented and thorough, remembering every step taken between problem identification and arrival at a solution. In our environment you should be comfortable remotely accessing Linux servers at customer sites and resolving issues while their server may be mission critical. You must be able to work on your own, without supervision, taking ownership of issues as they are presented to you.

Required Skills

• 2 - 4 Years Experience in a Technical Support Position
• Knowledge of Multiple Linux Distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, RHEL, etc ...)
• Previous Experience Administering and Supporting Linux Servers
• Understanding of Thin Client and Client / Server Environments
• Understanding of the Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP)
• Strong Communication Skills (Writing, Speaking)

• Testing Open Source Software packages
• Testing Open Source Operating Systems on a variety of Hardware
• Supporting Customers in Live Environments using LTSP and Thin Clients
• Supporting Customers using Ubuntu Linux and Software Packages within
• Additional Learning and Growth of Complimentary Skill sets

Desktop Solutions Developer

The ideal candidate for the Desktop Solutions Developer position has an in-depth understanding of desktop computing and how it relates to server based computing. You have experience working with at least a few different client / server solutions and have a creative desire to begin working on the next solution, an advancement on what is available today. You have in-depth understanding of computer operating systems, cloud computing, computer networking, and computer hardware. You desire to develop solutions which will be used by large organizations around the world. The ideal candidate will be attracted to working in a small environment with the freedoms that come along with not having to report to a large management hierarchy. You are a self starter and capable of taking a project from conceptual start to technical completion only seeking help in strategy and technical know-how along the way.

• Strong Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems (and the Kernel)
• Strong Knowledge of x86 Hardware (ARM based and other platforms a plus)
• Experience in working with Client / Server Software and Solutions
• Strong Programming Skills: C, C++, Bash, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby
• Knowledge and Familiarity with multiple Networking Protocols and Databases
• Familiarity with Current Thin Client Computing Solutions in the marketplace

• Technical Development on Different Hardware Platforms
• Development of Technical Solution Strategy for Customers
